Personal Experience & Biography
Sara has a BS in Speech Communications from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MA in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a focus on marriage and family therapy. She also holds a PhD in Divinity from Aberdeen University.
Sara has worked in both pastoral and clinical settings and has experience in young adult counseling, premarital counseling, family therapy, marital therapy, and divorce recovery. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, family systems, boundaries, and is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator. Her area of interest is the Millennial generation, particularly their spirituality and world view. This expertise brings a unique dimension to the therapeutic setting by helping family members bridge the generation gap so that they can understand and appreciate one another more fully.
At Restoration, Sara provides individual, couples, and family counseling for a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, marital conflict, boundaries, low self-esteem, spiritual issues, grief, and infertility. Her greatest desire is for clients – whether individuals or families – to understand themselves and one another so that they can live fulfilled, purposeful lives.
