Personal Experience & Biography
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.” – Brené Brown
Believing that our stories shape the way we relate to ourselves and others, Margot uses a trauma and attachment-informed approach to explore these patterns with compassion and curiosity. Her goal is to empower her clients to experience greater confidence, understanding, and connection with themselves and others.
Margot uses a collaborative approach to therapy, believing that each client is the expert on their own life. She prioritizes safety, trust, choice, and respect through open communication and joint-decision making.
At Restoration, Margot offers both in-person and virtual sessions to adult individuals, couples, and families in Dallas and Fort Worth. Margot’s hope is that her clients are able to create a life for themselves that is joyful, connected, and meaningful.
Margot holds a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama. She has experience in both private practice as well as community mental health settings, where she worked with individuals, couples, and families. Margot’s areas of clinical special interest include trauma and/or PTSD, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, and her clinical work is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy, and Family Systems Theories.
