Personal Experience & Biography

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a catalyst for transformation. I delight in creating personalized experiences where clients feel seen, heard, valued, supported, challenged, and empowered to navigate difficult life circumstances and relational struggles and make changes that heal, moving them toward their life aspirations. I am passionate about creating environments where clients can recognize their inherent worth and unique strengths and connect to hope to overcome barriers to healing, growth, and freedom.

My focus with clients is to cultivate a deeper understanding and relationship with themselves, others, and God (if desired), and I strive to establish a sanctuary of safety where clients can explore, discover, and practice new and effective ways of thinking and being for empowered living. I infuse a blend of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, fun, and humor (where appropriate), as well as evidence-based education and techniques, into my practice to help clients get past blocks that keep them stuck. Through our work together, one can expect to gain insight and practical strategies and skills that foster resilience and emotional well-being.

I am deeply aware of the profound impact trauma can have and am dedicated to supporting clients on their unique healing journey and comebacks with a trauma-informed approach. I am honored to work with individuals to overcome barriers and obstacles, leading to growth, healing, discovering and restoring their true, authentic selves, and empowering them in their relationships and circumstances. I find no greater joy than to witness others connect the dots to experience life-changing epiphanies—“Aha!” moments that lead to transformation.

I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the CACREP-accredited Townsend Institute at Concordia University, Irvine, and I gained valuable experience through both private practice and working with adolescents in Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization internships. I easily connect to diverse clients, seeing men and women, young adults, and adolescents.
